    A slab is the door panel. A prehung unit includes a frame. Record whether you need a slab or a complete unit, and check exactly what the selected product includes.

  2. Measure the opening and the frame.

    Record the width and height in several places, plus the wall or jamb depth. Keep rough-opening measurements separate from the existing door's dimensions. Include the units with every measurement.

  3. Confirm the swing and the exact model.

    Note which side the hinges sit on, the side you are viewing from, and whether the door swings toward or away from you. Confirm handing terminology and required clearances against the manufacturer's documentation for the selected SKU.

French doors look great, but offer the least resistance to door kick-in attempts by burglars. Made of cold rolled steel, this patent pending easy to install kit provides real protection by reinforcing both active and passive doors, the passive door top slide bolt, and all door hinges. All installation hardware is included. It does not require additional locking devices. It is powder coated white to match most homeowner's trim or can be painted to match any decor. The StrikeMaster II French and Double Door Reinforcement Kit will fit most French and double doors. Also repairs and strengthens already broken doors and frames.
